editFrom Aramaic שְׁתַעְסַר (štaʿəsar). Equivalent to ܐܸܫܬܵܐ (ištā, “six”) + ܥܸܣܪܵܐ (ʿisrā, “ten”); compare Arabic سِتَّةَ عَشَرَ (sittata ʕašara) and Hebrew שִׁשָּׁה עָשָׂר (shishá 'asár).
