Etymology edit

Contraction of ܠܵܐ ܟܹܐ ܝܵܕ݂ܥܹܝܢ (lā kē yāḏˁēn, “I don’t know”) and ܠܵܐ ܟܹܐ ܝܵܕ݂ܥܵܢ (lā kē yāḏˁān, “I don’t know”), male and female forms of the full phrase respectively, although this contraction is used gender-neutrally.
