From Aramaic תַּנּוּרָא (tannūrā), from Middle Persian [script needed] (tnwl /⁠tanūr⁠/), from Akkadian 𒋾𒂟 (tinūru, oven); compare Hebrew תַּנּוּר (tanúr) and Arabic تَنُّور (tannūr).
