Etymology edit

Inherited from Proto-Indo-Aryan *kaḍḍʰati (to pull, draw). Cognate to Gujarati કાઢવું (kāḍhvũ), Nepali काड्नु (kāḍnu), Punjabi ਕੱਢਣਾ (kaḍḍhaṇā), Hindi काढ़ना (kāṛhnā), Bengali কাড়া (kaṛa).
