    Inherited from Prakrit चउग्गुण (caügguṇa) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-), from Sanskrit चतुर्गुण (cáturguṇa). Alternatively, from चौ- (cau-) +‎ गुना (gunā).
