Syncope of বইন (boin), from Magadhi Prakrit *𑀩𑀳𑀺𑀡𑀻 (*bahiṇī), from Old Indo-Aryan *baghinī (compare attested ভগিনী (bhaginī)). Doublet of ভগিনী (bhogini).
