Particularly: “Doesn't seem to be in STEDT. There is a lemma "ta" (cling to ( obs. )), which traces to Proto-Sino-Tibetan *s-dar (to bind, fasten, tether), which is related to Old Chinese (OC *dan, *dans, “to bind, wind”). Could these be related? Okell's "Burmese By Ear" gives the definition for a တား as "to put at, to set at, to 'make it'" - is this the same တား?”
