Etymology

A phrase consisted by で (de, locative particle) + やんす (yansu, auxiliary verb indicating politeness); considered to be changed from であります (dearimasu).

でやんす • (de yansu) 

1. (dated, now dialectal) indicating light polite assertive [from 17th c.]
   • c. 1708, Chikamatsu Monzaemon, Keisei Hangonkō (傾城反魂香):

     先(さき)の相(あい)手(て)がつよいか、身(み)の取(とり)廻(まわ)しのわるさか知(し)らんでやんす

     Saki no aite ga tsuyoi ka, mi no torimawashi no warusa ka shiran de yansu

     I don't know if the opponent is stronger or it's badness of an action of own body.
