Chinese edit

tall head of a gang or secret society
trad. (喬幫主) 幫主
simp. (乔帮主) 帮主

Etymology edit

Originally the title for Qiao Feng (喬峰), a fictional character from a wuxia novel by Jin Yong. The epithet 幫主帮主 (bāngzhǔ) roughly means "chief, lord" and thus this term is used humorously to refer to celebrities whose name begins with the character (qiáo) in Chinese.
