Etymology edit
Thought to be derived from Sanskrit अर्बुद (arbuda, “sore, tumor”). Supposedly, was first used by Buddhist monks (as 頞部陀 (abuda)) in reference to Arbuda (the Buddhist hell of chilblains).[1]
