Sino-Korean word from 動脈, from (moving) + (pulse), from an orthographic borrowing from Japanese 動脈 (dōmyaku).

  • Phonetic hangul: [(ː)/(ː)]
    • Though still prescribed in Standard Korean, most speakers in both Koreas no longer distinguish vowel length.
