Etymology edit

Sino-Korean word from 用紙, from (to use) + (paper), an orthographic borrowing from Japanese 用紙(ようし) (yōshi).

  • Phonetic hangul: [(ː)]
    • Though still prescribed in Standard Korean, most speakers in both Koreas no longer distinguish vowel length.
