From Proto-Saka *Rāzavara (ruling king), composed of *rāza (directing, ruling, ruler) (cf. Khotanese rrays (to direct, rule), rraysa (official title), *razaka (ruling, ruler) + *vara (excellent, strong) (cf. Khotanese vara (excellent, strong), Tocharian B walo (ruler)).[1]
