Longer form of -ție, borrowed from Latin -tiō, -tiōnem and based partially on the older inherited form -ciune, now only found in certain older words and constructions, or as part of terms inherited from Latin.
Pronunciation edit
Suffix edit
-țiune f (plural -țiuni)
- (in most cases dated) -tion
Usage notes edit
- The use of -țiune is dated for most words today, with some exceptions (for example acțiune, interacțiune, moțiune, națiune, rațiune), and has largely been replaced by -ție.
