From Proto-Hellenic *-ťťō, from a stem ending in the consonants *k, *kʰ, *kʷ, *kʷʰ, *t, *tʰ, or *g + the Proto-Indo-European present suffixes *-yeti (transitive imperfective suffix) or *-yéti (intransitive imperfective suffix).
