Ges.
editWhat given name is Ges. an abbreviation for? {It appears on 1925 ship manifest}

- I assume it's an abbreviation for some other word, not a given name, as ge- is a common prefix in German grammar and Category:German masculine given names doesn't have any plausible names, so perhaps:
- Ges. for Gesellschaft (“company”);
- ges. gesch. for gesetzlich geschützt ("legally protected": What Does Term "Geschutzt" Mean on Antiques?).
