Summary of changes

edit

@Antonklroberts, @Shuraya @ܐܢܐ

in the coming weeks ill be making changes to the templates and wanted to use this thread to summarize them so you don't have to try to piece together what im doing and why ColumbaBush (talk) 14:34, 14 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

i removed extraneous closing div tags </div></div> from the templates which was preventing the data dumps https://dumps.wikimedia.org/enwiktionary from sourcing the template structure ColumbaBush (talk) 14:38, 14 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
for templates which were moved, i used pywikibot to rename the template name where it's invoked, ex. aii-conj-verb/A1 to aii-conj-verb/G ColumbaBush (talk) 06:38, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
on category pages for these inflection tables
i made the sortkey 0 for the root-most templates - this makes it easy to understand which templates have html in them ColumbaBush (talk) 07:21, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Slash delimited naming convention for templates

edit

@Antonklroberts @ܐܢܐ @Shuraya

im renaming our templates so they're consistent w/ the slash delimited convention that we've mostly been using

this lets us understand what a template inherits from, from the template's name alone (a useful way to maximize the machine-readability)

for example

Template:this/that/other tells us

  • Template:this/that/other inherits from Template:this/that
  • Template:this/that inherits from Template:this

an actual example of this would be how i just renamed

Template:aii-infl-noun-cb

to

Template:aii-infl-noun/cb

so we know from the name alone that this template inherits from Template:aii-infl-noun

please let me know if there's any concerns w/ these changes ColumbaBush (talk) 10:54, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

gonna finish this bulk-renaming once ColumbaBushBot is approved ColumbaBush (talk) 21:45, 19 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
