Borrowed from Chinese 朝鮮族朝鲜族.

Proper noun edit

Chaoxianzu

  1. Ethnic Koreans of Chinese nationality. The term "Chaoxianzu (朝鲜族)" is derived from "Joseon (朝鲜; Chaoxian)," the name of an ancient Korean dynasty, and was established during the Ethnic Recognition Project (民族识别工作) carried out by the Chinese government from 1949 to 1953. Before this initiative, the group was commonly referred to as "Joseonin (朝鲜人; Chaoxianren)" in Mandarin.
