Etymology edit

First attested as Liessent in 1699. Compound of lies (great manna grass, Glyceria maxima) and eind (end, edge). The second element is likely to be a reinterpretation from hout (rising deciduous forest). Compare Boekend, Lieseind, Lieshout, Ulvend and Vaareind.
