  1. (chiefly humorous) Eye dialect spelling of Mexico.
    • 1950, New Yorker, page 159:
      "Rio Rita" takes place in a country referred to by practically every member of the cast as "Old Mehico". Old Mehico is populated by Mehicans, and is situated South of the Border, underneath Texas. The male members of the Mehican population are referred to as señors and the females as señoras and señoritas.
