- @Mar vin kaiser: Hi, I just saw this after recently wondering about this and also someone in our gc recently brought it up. I remember hearing before a term like "huang" like 野huang, but I'm not sure why I can't seem to find the character in wiktionary. Tho, I guess 辣(lua̍h) is also used to mean like something is very hot, but there's definitely that huang term that's missing. I was wondering long ago as well if the tagalog term "anghang" is related to it, like maybe 紅huang but who knows.--Mlgc1998 (talk) 18:33, 10 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Mlgc1998: I haven't put it yet in Wiktionary. It's 風 (huang, hong in Xiamen), original meaning is "minty", but in Philippine Hokkien at least, the meaning has extended to mean "spicy". You can see the similarity in meaning. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 22:33, 10 October 2021 (UTC)
