  • (Noord-Brabant) Attested as St. Anthonis Molen in 1838-1857. Derived from nieuw (new) and molen (windmill). Named after a windmill constructed in 1817. So named to distinguish the settlement from Oude Molen.
  • (Zeeland) Attested as Nieuwe molen in 1899. Derived from nieuw (new) and molen (windmill). Named after a former windmill demolished in 1922. So named to distinguish the settlement from Oude Molen.
