Proto-Finnic edit

Etymology edit

Unknown, but apparently contains the suffix *-ëda. If *turbot'ak were an old derivative, a root *turpa- appears more likely than *turpe-, which would have yielded *turbut'ak.

Adjective edit

*turpëda

  1. bloated, swollen
  2. thick
