Etymology

Many theories on origin. Possibly borrowed from the BMAC substrate.[1] Or possibly it is a primary derivative of a PIE *h₃éyd- “to swell” with nasal infix, thus, *i-n-d-rā- adj. “strong” > índra- subst. n. pr. with secondary accent shift
