Pronunciation
edit-ôf, /-ɔːf/, /-O:f/
Notes
edit- Some dialects may pronounce words typically pronounced with -ɒf, with -ɔːf instead. This is the case in North American English dialects without the cot-caught merger.
- In many non-rhotic dialects, words ending in /ô(r)f/, /ɔː(ɹ)f/, typically spelled "-orf", are also rhymes. See Rhymes ending in -ɔː(r)f for these words.
- In dialects with the cot–caught merger, words ending in /ɒf/ are also rhymes. See Rhymes ending in -ɒf for these words.
- In dialects with the cot–caught and father-bother mergers, words ending in /ɑːf/ are also rhymes. See Rhymes ending in -ɑːf for these words.
