Steggerda

Etymology edit
First attested as steggerden and steggarden in 1408. Etymology unknown. Unlikely to be a compound of Old Frisian steg (“narrow road, footpath”) and garda (“garden”). The -da ending developed under the influence of nearby toponyms.
