PIE etimology

edit

Etimology says comes from PIE to greek/hellenic Proto-Indo-European *bʰuH- (to swell, bend, curve). Something's wrong here. Proto-Indo-European *bʰuH- only mentions expected bh->φ derivations, not bh->β. The meaning of the word is different too. Itaj Sherman (talk) 21:21, 4 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

The "swell" and "grow" meanings are similar enough. But Reconstruction:Proto-Germanic/bōsmaz, which the entry says is cognate, gives a different form for the root.
No comment on the phonological changes in Greek. 98.170.164.88 21:29, 4 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
