Etymology

@Fay Freak, an IP changed the Persian etymology recently, do you know if the changes were correct/do you know the actual etymology of this word? — BABR・talk 20:10, 11 August 2024 (UTC)

@Babr: Well, it was correct before, since a beginning /vâ…/ can’t be inherited. IP’s claim “If cognates exist in other Iranic languages, then you can't claim that it originated in a particular area” is illogical, though you be inclined to agree with his other claim about its being “not heard frequently in any area outside of Tehran Province” being incorrect.
