Mingrelian
editThere is no such word as ერთობა (ertoba, “burrough, cluster of villages”) in Mingrelian. There is, however, ერთობა ("unity"), which is quite obviously borrowed from Georgian. --Simboyd (talk) 14:19, 26 July 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, good catch. Kipšidze says as much. I think when he writes “(г. something)” he means “borrowed from грузинский something”. Now I think it is best to describe the wrong etymology and discard it with reasoning, so that in the future people don't add it back or don't read about it somewhere and think it may be true.
