@Wyang: Question: Should all cases like ហ៊្គីណេ (hkiinee) be respelled like ហ្គ៊ីណេ (giinee)? I'm only moving the position of ៊ (៊) in the cluster to get the right sound. Also, in the consonant cluster, which consonant determines the class? In Thai, it's the first consonant. @Atitarev Both are essentially the same, but ហ៊្គី seems more common online than ហ្គ៊ី. I made the module accept both inputs for this and other similar cases. This one isn't a cluster per se (it is second-series /g/ as a result of the triisap ៊), but in cases like ថ្មី (thməy), the rules of vowel governance can be quite complex. Cambodian System of Writing and Beginning Reader has a chapter on this: link. Basically, the consonants are divided into a dominant group (stops and spirants) and a non-dominant group (continuants), and if the two consonants in a cluster are discordant in terms of their series, the series of the cluster is determined by that of the dominant consonant in the cluster. If both consonants are dominant, the series is determined by that of the subscript consonant. Wyang (talk) 11:51, 1 April 2018 (UTC)
