Talk:メンチを切る

Is the conjugation template still applicable to this? Wyang (talk) 22:34, 13 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Russian idioms with verbs use {{ru-conj-verb-see}}, e.g. делать предложение, to avoid conjugating full expressions. Japanese verb templates are easy to use but メンチを切る is conjugated as 切る, the template obviously duplicates info here. --Anatoli (обсудить/вклад) 23:33, 13 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
I mean... wouldn't some of the forms be erroneous or at least weird-sounding if the term is Kansai slang? Wyang (talk) 23:36, 13 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • Most of the forms given could conceivably be used. The only one that's a bit odd is the mid-formal register form menchi o kirimasu -- this term is decidedly low-register, making the -masu ending weird. But even then, someone might use that deliberately for effect. ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │ Tala við mig 23:55, 13 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
