@0DF: The "historical" field is strictly for historical kana orthography, which "いも𛄟と" and "いもひと" are decisively not, and いもうと is redundant to いもうと. Explaining these matters is getting extremely tiring. (Also pinging @Eirikr.) —Fish bowl (talk) 04:47, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, agreed — @0DF, the 𛄟 glyph is a relatively recent invention used to hyper-correct for the lack of any /wu/ phoneme in Japanese. Our entry at 𛄟 even explicitly states:
- 𛄟 is a retrospective invention. It was not actually used in the ancient Japanese literature (which uses man'yōgana instead) and thus is not included in the historical kana orthography.
- Please do not use this glyph in any historical kana sections.
- Also, there does not appear to be any textual evidence for any いもひと rendering. Consequently, this is not historically attested, and thus it similarly does not belong in any historical kana section.
