Misspelling meseems

edit

@DCDuring, Chuck Entz If I don’t err this is a misspelling of Montpellier maple (with two ⟨l⟩), because of referring rather to the one place in France, like this Acer monspessulanum is called in German Französischer Ahorn, spelled by Americans wrongly as often as not because for American English speakers there come to mind more places called Montpelier and there is a tendency in the US to write one ⟨l⟩ where the Commonwealth writes two, like leveled, canceled etc. Fay Freak (talk) 22:46, 9 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. The one-"l" form has been less common this millennium. DCDuring (talk) 00:16, 10 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
