I came to this page referred from the Webster's definition. A lot from the Webster' s definition seems to have been dropped. Was this meant this way?

The most likely explanation is that whoever started this article was not aware that the Webster article existed, and simply provided his own definition. Eclecticology

What I would like to know is whether it is supposed to copy the definition of Webster's to the new item or not and then add some more stuff to it.

That sounds about right. You may even want to rearrange some of it. Also once it has been worked over by a human in that way, the Webster-bot notice at the top can be removed. Eclecticology 19:28 Mar 30, 2003 (UTC)
