Possible obsolete slang senses edit

John Camden Hotten's Slang Dictionary (1873) defines this as (i) "a swindler, one who formerly used to cheat lottery-office keepers"; (ii) "Now used among betting men to describe one who runs from place to place with commissions". I can't find much in Google Books. Equinox 15:28, 19 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
