Related to Latin cattus? edit

Shouldn't this be reworded to say from Late Latin cattus, I don't think this is a Proto-Germanic word. For example Appendix:Proto-Germanic/palmaz was deleted as the word for palm in Germanic languages is borrowed from Latin palma. Mglovesfun (talk) 20:55, 22 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Much later discussion of the etymology took place at Wiktionary:Etymology scriptorium/2017/July#cat and Wiktionary:Etymology scriptorium/2017/December#Proto-Celtic_*kattā_"cat". - -sche (discuss) 22:39, 27 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
