Hi Folks!
The definition had previously read: "The members of one's household; especially one's parents and immediate family", and I changed it to "one's immediate family, especially one's parents", seeing as the example given, "my folks visit us at Christmas" specifically refers to parents who are not a part of the household.

editPhrases like "black folks", "queer folks", "trans folks", "LGBTQ folks" etc appear to occur not infrequently even in regions where "folks" is otherwise unusual as a synonym for "people", such as Britain. I am not sure how to note this phenomenon on the entry. — Mnemosientje (t · c) 13:01, 11 October 2023 (UTC)
