John Camden Hotten's Slang Dictionary (1873) has frump as "a slatternly woman, a gossip. In modern slang it is the feminine of fogey, and means a prim old lady, who is generally termed a regular old frump." Equinox 12:43, 4 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
