Could be from minger, although that is a hard /g/ sound so does not rhyme with "ginger". Trying to think back to school days: I think I've only heard this aloud with the hard /g/ sound, which suggests our entry might have a problem. Equinox 21:48, 15 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
