What is 'mankind'? Is it different from 'human beings'? I don't know when 'mankind' is used or referred to and when 'human beings' should be used? — This comment was unsigned.

- sorry but mankind refers to humans in general not to men as opposed to women, in fact there is nothing like womankind, which would be the case if it referred only to men. And in the entry "man" it is written that it refers to men (both females and males)which is very rare used almost exclusively in biblic contexts, placing this definition above that of it referring only to male which is the most common signify. I invert the order in the page "man"
Plurality? edit
This seems to be plural ("mankind are..."), but only sometimes. Same goes for menkind, womankind, womenkind and probably others like dogkind. Our entries variously call each word either uncountable or plural, never both. Equinox ◑ 21:51, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
