Sources?

I don't believe that this phrase is unique to the US South, yet the entry says, "Known in the US south," suggesting it is endemic there. I'm also dubious of its connection with The A Team. Mr. T's catch phrase was "I pity the fool", not any variant of whoop ass. Given this controversy, external sources may be called for. Cnilep 16:34, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

For anyone who's reading this over a decade later: "whoop" for "whip" definitely sounds Southern. As for The A Team: this phrase would never have made it past the censors in the days of the original series. I don't know anything about the movie, though.
