I'm pretty sure "orang utan" means just "orang utan" the ape species and, literally, "jungle man". — Hippietrail 13:51, 17 Jan 2005 (UTC)

The description of orang utan is very bad. As far as I know, it stems from the Indonesian/ Malay orang hutan => "man of the forest", as these apes really live mostly in trees and therefore are found in the jungle of Borneo (Kalimantan) and Sumatra.
