policeman

I heard a definition on BBC that it was also a slang word for policeman. Somewhat like cop. Can anyone assure me, please? Ferike333 18:19, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

• I've added senses "the police" and "a police officer" as they are used outside of the term "PC Plod". I've marked them as being a separate etymology, as I think it goes (deprecated template usage) plod -> {{term|PC Plod||a police officer} -> (deprecated template usage) plod.
