Surely misspellings should be treated specially, e.g. with a redirect? Otherwise there's no way we can generate a list of valid words from the wikipedia database.--Wizofaus 00:47, 10 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wiktionary's policy is to treat misspelling as valid words (as long as they are common enough of course). These entries are not included in categories anyway (e.g. Noun, Adjective, Verb, etc) so they don't disturb the database. ---> Tooironic 09:25, 14 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

This misspelling has been "very common" since at least the 1870s, when Brewer's Errors of Speech and of Spelling mentions it as such. In the 1700s, it was 1/100th as common as separate; between 1830 and 1970 it was only about 1/1000th as common, per Google Books Ngram Viewer data. - -sche (discuss) 21:22, 26 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
