I have a feeling that shades (when used as shadows - which may be a distict meaning) may well be countable??? trunkie 13:45, 25 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Sense for "throw shade" edit

Should this entry include the sense that's meant in "throw shade"? I'm not sure exactly what it means, but I gather it's something like an attitude of superiority. —Rod (A. Smith) 02:34, 22 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

I haven't heard this. Is it a metaphorical sense of e.g. a large tree casting shadow on the lesser plants beneath it? Equinox 13:08, 23 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
