Rfv-sense "A facial expression that involves the use of nose and mouth to squish in together, as well as frowning the eyebrows to display disapproval, seriousness, playfulness or questioning towards another person.". Isn't that squint? --Fytcha (talk) 17:36, 22 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

There are a whole assortment of uses in English, but it is difficult to pin down a definition. I put some stuff on Citations:squink. This, that and the other (talk) 02:09, 23 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
I added some more entries to the assortment on the citations page. I think most of the uses are nonces. The verb seems citable. Also, the cryptid. Kiwima (talk) 05:00, 26 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hah I have another cite for the squid ink sense that would get it up to three!
  • 2010, M. K. Hobson, The native star, page 221:
"Caul was doing his best to squink me." Stanton's voice was dismissive, but his brow knit slightly. "For all Caul derides credomancy, he's not above using its tools."

"What exactly is a ‘squink’ anyway?"

"It's a minor credomantic tactic. It is an attempt to undermine the power of another by attacking his sense of self-worth. It's a contraction of the words 'squid ink,' because it's like a squid squirting ink to muddy the waters. A successful squink makes one question oneself, and questioning oneself leads to muddleheadedness and uncertainty."

But they're all obvious nonces, and silly ones at that, so it doesn't seem worthwhile. This, that and the other (talk) 10:02, 26 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
