The children were suitably impressed

Can the meaning in the following sentence can infer from the current definition? The children were suitably impressed --Backinstadiums (talk) 10:13, 27 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

"In a suitable manner" seems to cover it (the "with propriety" bit is not relevant for this example). Equinox 10:23, 27 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Equinox: Microsoft® Encarta® 2009 offers in its second meaning as synonymous two adjectives which are not
suitably: 1. appropriately
          2. to an appropriate or the expected extent

Whether a "suitably impressed" person is impressed in the suitable way (i.e. because they ought to be) or to a suitable degree seems rather academic: how could we tell these cases apart? Equinox 11:47, 27 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
