Adjective:ˌtoy ˈfactory for a child to play with
editEarly vs late stress: ˈtoy ˌfactory where toys are made, ˌtoy ˈfactory for a child to play with --Backinstadiums (talk) 12:06, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
- I remember this example from David Crystal (1984). Another was "ˈEnglish teacher" (the subject) vs. "English ˈteacher" (comes from England). Equinox ◑ 12:17, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
- It makes me want to create toy truck now with a similar double meaning ..... e.g. The toy truck carried toy trucks to the orphanage ... but Im not sure the phrase would be used in the sense of a toy-carrrying truck very often even if the stress would disambiguate the meaning. —Soap— 09:31, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
