"a unanimous" or "an unanimous"?

edit

Here's an example of "an unanimous"

1945 May 23, “FDR HONORED”, in Free Philippines[1], volume 3, number 24, page 1:
    • Franklin D. Roosevelt was yesterday posthumously awarded a special Medal of Honor by an unanimous vote of the House of Representatives, press dispatches said.

When I typed out this example and looked at it, it was shocking to me, because I would never think to say or write "an unanimous"- I would always say "a unanimous". I don't know if a special usage note would be in order on this issue. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 21:31, 7 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
