Talk:whist

Judging from ngrams, "whisted" is about ten thousand times less common than "silenced", so, it's rare. Expanding the timeframe of the ngram, it has become less common over time, so I'm tempted to label it dated, but for now I will only label it rare. (See also "whisting".) The ngram data for "was silent" vs "was whist" show that the latter is about one thousand times less common than the former, so, also rare or at least uncommon. - -sche (discuss) 02:54, 20 April 2015 (UTC)
